Listened to her 3-hours on JRE. Amazing story, and someone to whom everyone should listen on the parallels between the last 3+ years, and her home country of North Korea. Terrifying.
Yeah it's rather scary when she points out the parallels between N Korea and the US. One can't help but think that we're a bunch of idiots playing with fire in the living room, blithely unaware that the house might burn down.
Whenever my sons, who are in their 20’s, start to complain about their “plight” in the world, I always make a point to inform them how “Easy” their fellow 20 something’s in Iran or North Korea or the Congo, lives are.
seems none of the young generation give a F about freedom . They take surveillance of their every move and thought as normal , my children as well . I just don´t get it I tell them there is a reason the gov needed a warrant to tap your phone back in my day , they just accept that someone be it big tech or gov is listening in , and they say big deal ? I tell them go move back in time to 1950 East Germany , that is where were going . Seems freedom breeds complacency if you let it
I think that if you've not experienced the really negative effects of totalitarian/authoritarian government it's very difficult to understand why the direction we're headed in could be/already is bad. It's not intuitive to me at all, and the only reason I'm able to appreciate it at all is because I've read so much.
This is why I suspect there will need to be more pain, before more people start to figure out firsthand what can go wrong.
Awesome! Although I could have brought you my copy if I had known :D Closer to the end of May it will be time for dinner and conversation at Casa del Chef Jonathan

Spot on, I love it... We've got it so made it's just ridiculous. Gratitude is essential

Good review. This sounds like a book I'll need to pick up.
Absolutely... It exceeded all my expectations
Intriguing review. Always interested in seeing the world in which I live through the eyes of another;
gaining knowledge and provoking thought. Book ordered.
