I completely understand. I have felt absolutely humbled by support while at the same time feeling like I should be doing better, have more subscribers, etc.
This week I told myself to shove it. For me, this is about bringing information to others that they usually can't get elsewhere to challenge prevailing narratives. Even if I had one subscriber it would be enough as I firmly believe this is my purpose....but it doesn't stop me from doubting, beating myself up and wishing I was better.
If you know your purpose and you believe in it, nothing else should matter. Keep up the good work, and I really wish you had that GoPro in Nicaragua. Next time!
Indeed, next time! Thanks for the comment Melody. You really do bring a unique perspective that nobody else is writing about. You're the only "boots on the ground" housing journalist that I know of.
Sounds like we're in the same boat. Feeling like we could always be doing better. It's probably the best mindset to have, but it certainly can cause some tension. Like you said though, just have to focus on the process and let the rest sort itself out.
First, I think you are a great writer, but then who am I?
Second, it is time for you to return to the US. You have traveled a lot and clearly have a unique perspective. Start a podcast and become the next Rush Limbaugh and help your generation return our country to greatness. Your talents are being wasted. JMHO
Aaaah, the concept of “enough“…. I think most people reach contentment as they get older and stop caring much about the Joneses. Also, it helps to make fat stacks and get to the “fuck you” money:
I read that a few years ago, definitely a winner. I liked his book Everything is Fucked even better. Mark is a smart dude, definitely one of the more grounded people to come out of the PUA community.

Exactly! And thank you.
On your recommendation just ordered Tracking The Wild Coomba.
Excellent! I know you're Canadian, does that automatically make you a skier too, or does that only apply to hockey?
I skied and played hockey when I was younger. It's a gift for my son-in-law but I may read it first.
Cool, you should. Doug was a hell of a guy. I knew you had some hockey in your blood 😉

It's in the works! Moving back in a few months. I've sold my surfboards, arranged passage for my dog, I'm coming home...
Idk about Rush Limbaugh haha but I am getting my YouTube channel going. See if anyone is interested in hearing my rants instead of reading them.
👍

That's a great clip... I've got the "don't drink" part down solid, now I just need to figure out the cash situation.
🤣
I'm the opposite
You'll get there, seems like you're on the right track.

Just listened to it, now I want to start my own religion 😉
